Meet our heroes: Extra Life gamers raise funds for Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital
Extra Life Gameday is just one month away and Children’s Miracle Network at Geisinger would like to give a shout out to some of the players who are working hard to play games and heal kids.
Today we introduce Joe Krug, a member of the Gearbox Union in the Altoona area. Joe, 33, has been involved with Extra Life for 5 years. His Gearbox team holds a special gameday event that is open to the public with tournaments, prizes and much more.
Joe enjoys playing Lords of Waterdeep, X-Wing, Final Fantasy VII and Super Mario Maker. On gameday he is most looking forward to playing Jackbox Party Pack 5.
What is Joe’s Why?
“My niece was born with a hemangioma that could have affected her eyesight,” he says. “She was treated by the great staff at Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital. I saw the great support and care they provided to my family. I play to ensure the hospital can continue to do so for others.”
