Gearbox Union plans virtual event for June 13 and 14
Due to the unfortunate, but understandable, postponement of this year’s Sci-Fi Valley Con in Altoona, PA, the gang from Gearbox Union were “pretty bummed about not getting to entertain and spend time with folks from the con family, and raise donations for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.”
So the Gearbox Union members have decided to hold a virtual event of movies, gaming, and charity during the original weekend of the convention, June 13 and 14.
Thanks to a new feature Twitch introduced, they are now able to host a watch party of any available content on Amazon Prime. So they will be broadcasting movies and gaming all weekend while collecting donations for the Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital and UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh through Extra Life!
Also, to help all of the vendors who have supported the convention in the past, vendors are asked to send a one-minute video talking about their shop and/or experiences at the convention. Please reach out to the group on Facebook by searching @GearboxUnion. They will play the videos on air during the event. Fans are also encouraged to share their memories as well.
