Walmart holds Halloween event for local kids

2017 Miracle Kid Savannah decorates cupcakes during the Mill Hall Walmart’s Halloween event.

Associates at the Mill Hall Walmart (store No. 2528) held a Halloween themed event to support Children’s Miracle Network at Geisinger.

Associates set up a section of the Lawn and Garden Department with tables for 2017 Miracle Kid Savannah Rodriguez, 3, of Mill Hall, her friends and other children at the store to participate in fun fall activities. The kids decorated pumpkins and Halloween-themed cupcakes.

Walmart also donated a Disney Frozen themed bike, helmet and knee and arm pads to Savannah and also gave her parents, Manny and Sabrina, a gift card to a local restaurant to enjoy an evening out.

“We did this because we had the unique opportunity to give back to one of our local families, Personnel Manager Jackie said. “It is also another opportunity to allow the community to see that their fundraising really does stay local and help local families.”

2016 Miracle Kid Macy Plowman, 10, and her mother,  Jaime McCann, were also on hand for the event.  Macy’s little sister Josey attends preschool with Savannah.
