SEMDM Does it Again! Another Dance Marathon Record Broken!
For the 11th year in a row, students at Wyoming Seminary laced up their dancing shoes to raise money for kids at Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital. After months of preparing, students, faculty members, Miracle Families and more packed the gym at Wyoming Seminary College Preparatory School to celebrate children’s health.
This 6-hour long event is filled with games, raffles, a live auction and of course, dancing! Students coordinate with Miracle Kids ahead of the Dance Marathon to learn what games and activities the kids enjoy so they can participate throughout the day. The kids and their families LOVE participating and the students at Wyoming Sem go above and beyond to make sure everyone feels welcomed and appreciated.
As hours pass, the anticipation of the final fundraising reveal grows. Each year students strive to beat the previous year’s total. This year was no different, as the crowd sat silently waiting for the Executive Committee to raise each number one by one. They gym erupts in celebration as students see a total of $46,565.52, over $300 more than last year! Thank you to everyone who helps make SEMDM a success year after year! We are so proud of you all!
