Panda Cares Center of Hope is Now Open at GJWCH!

Our friends at Panda Express visited our hospital last week for the dedication of the Panda Care Center of Hope designated area at Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital. Employees from Panda were able to tour the hospital and meet some of our Miracle Kids. Panda donated stuffed animals, books, and official Panda hats to our pediatric patients.

The Panda Cares Center of Hope will provide a safe place to maximize the healing of Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital’s patients. The PCCoH will serve patients by providing support to Child Life programming that occurs in our playrooms. Here, our Certified Child Life Specialists assist in the physical, mental and developmental well-being of kids treated at our children’s hospital. The playroom is an “ouchless” room meaning no medical procedures are performed in this space.  It is a fun, safe place for kids to be kids during their stay.

Panda Express® guests and their associates have raised $54,331.17 in the Geisinger hospital market since 2007.

Panda Cares® Centers of Hope across the country are made possible by donations from Panda Express® associates and guests. Following a multimillion-dollar commitment to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals to fund Panda Cares® Centers of Hope, Panda and CMN Hospitals have debuted Center of Hope locations at several hospitals in the U.S. from California and Texas to Hawaii and Washington D.C.
