More than 3,100 local students learn about opioid abuse and addiction

After launching the #HadEnough initiative a year ago, Geisinger Health Plan (GHP) continues to push out the message, “We’ve #HadEnough, have you?” regarding opioid abuse and addiction.

Recently, GHP hosted Ohio native Wayne Campbell from an organization called Tyler’s Light. Mr. Campbell educated more than 3,100 students in 13 different school districts about the dangers of opioids and drug addiction. Along with creating awareness through the #HadEnough initiative, Mr. Campbell also presented a strong message: Speak up. Save a life.

Mr. Campbell presented to students in the following areas:

  • 800 juniors and seniors at the Williamsport Community Arts Center
  • 1,000 juniors and seniors at the Scranton Cultural Center
  • 800 juniors and seniors at Susquehanna University
  • 600 students, grades 9-12 at Danville Area High School

School administration and students were engaged and thankful for the free opportunity to hear such an
important message and to learn about opioid abuse and how it affects their communities.
