Yankees minor league club and princesses stop by to see patients

Members of the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Railriders, their mascot Champ and princesses from A Moment of Magic recently visited Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital. The players and characters spent time chatting with each patient and gave each child a stuffed animal.

The visit was part of the Railriders and New York Yankees Hope Week. Introduced in 2009, the Yankees’ HOPE Week initiative (Helping Others Persevere & Excel) is rooted in the fundamental belief that acts of goodwill provide hope and encouragement to more than just the recipient of the gesture.
