Walmart store champion has an extra reason to ASK

For Amanda from the Wilkes-Barre Walmart, store No. 1623, asking guests for donations to Children’s Miracle Network at Geisinger really hits home. Her son, Michael, is being treated at Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital for ongoing health issues and she gets to see firsthand how the donations aid in the care of patients.

Amanda leads the store fundraising as the store’s Children’s Miracle Network champion and asking for donations has never meant as much to her as it does right now.

“I do it because having something wrong with your child is the worst feeling in the world,” Amanda said. “Knowing that Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital is there for you and your family, takes a lot of the stress away. They have the best nurses and doctors.”
