Patients, staff celebrate Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital’s 25th Birthday

The Child Life Department celebrated Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital 25th Birthday on Monday with patients and staff of the children’s hospital. The party featured a lunch and birthday cake and gave patients and families that were able the opportunity to get out of their rooms. Patients were given the Courage Cape book that was written to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the children’s hospital and were also treated to a special reading of the book by Dr. Michael Ryan, senior vice president of development. Patients were also given the opportunity to pick and wear courage capes designed by Giant Food Store volunteers and Children’s Miracle Network staff.
